Making Good Choices

Are you making good choices? Well if you're not sure this post might help you. This year Room 21 had the opportunity to learn more about making good choices. Lynne is a lady that works with a giraffe called Harold. He helps kids like us and younger learn about how the body system works and what effects it.They teach their lessons in a caravan which is called ‘The Life Caravan’. Usually kids learn about these kinds of stuff so that they can watch out for chemicals and other harmful things that abuse their body. Living a healthy way is a better way to live than an unhealthy one.

Why should you have to make good choices? Making good choices is the way of living a healthy and responsible life.  People make bad choices which lead into bad consequences later on in life. But if you make good choices you might even be awarded for making the most good choices. That would be awesome, right?

Later on in the lesson we were talking about alcohol abuse which is another way to effect the body. The teacher, Lyn showed how it can affect our body by saying that young bodys alcohol can affect quickly unless you’re 18 or older. She read an article about a boy that was 16 years of age which was way under the legal age had a whole bottle of vodka at party. She said he was paralyzed and everyone thought he was sleeping. I guess they had a reason to because they didn’t know what he was doing. I reckon if they checked his pulse then he would've made it to the hospital, instead he died.

Have you or even a person you know has trouble with the use of drugs and cigarettes? This will encourage you to know more about what you putting into your body. Tar, Nicotine and ingredients from cleaning stuff. Would you put those sort of things into your mouth? I know I wouldn’t. To quit smoking there is a website called quit.org. It will help you to quit and make a better world for everyone.

Did you know an adult liver can only process one standard drink an hour. If the drinker had drunk more than one standard drink then the rest gets pumped into the blood and around the body and then affects the brain. Sometimes some drinkers call it a hangover. Did you know that the cause of smoking is Lung Cancer, Breast Cancer and Swollen Legs. That is why smoking is bad for our health and so is drugs and alcohol.

So make the right choices and you will live a perfect life, but not everyone can live a great life. Like me being only 12 years of age even young people make mistakes.
