The Endurance
Shackleton's Antarctic Expedition
Written By Janice Mariot
Sir Ernest Shackleton and 27 men set out to cross Antarctica, but things didn’t go as planed instead the sea froze their ship, crushing it. After months camping on the ice they stayed and 163 days later they soon rowed off to find land taking the things they could carry in their three boats. They soon set off to find land. Once they found Elephant Island they were the first people to step onto Elephant Island.
